Hi, I’m Dave Stotts. In our last series of Drive Thru History, we traveled through modern-day Israel to share the life of Jesus as recorded in the Gospels. We spent 18 episodes covering his birth, ministry, death, and resurrection according to the Biblical accounts of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. We explored more than 50 ancient sites to uncover the history, archaeology, geography, and traditions related to the most significant life ever lived.
At the end of our last series, Jesus had just left the scene. His final commission for his followers:
Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. (Mathew 28:19-20)
In this series of Drive Thru History, we are going to explore what happened next as we investigate the period of time following Jesus’s resurrection, and look at the amazing lives of the very first Christians. Beginning in Jerusalem and using the Book of Acts as our roadmap, we will travel the Mediterranean region to share the people, places, and events that launched the Christian faith.
We will spend these next 18 episodes covering the rest of the Bible’s New Testament. We will tell the stories of Peter, James, Philip, and Stephen on-location in Israel. We will follow the missionary journeys of Paul, Barnabas, Silas, and Timothy through Turkey, Cyprus, Greece, Malta, and Rome We will end with John on Patmos and drive through the seven churches of Revelation in Asia Minor. In the end, you will find no better way to take your family on a field trip through the entire New Testament!
